Exceptional Children's Week

 

Baker celebrated Exceptional Children's Week on March 5th-9th. Thank you to all the students and teachers who helped make this week a success! Parents, did you see the inspiring butterfly banner yet?  Baker really is "true blue"--we had so many children and staff wear blue on "Wear Blue to Include Day. Below is a list of classes who had 100% participation. They received a free dessert from McDonald's. Enjoy, and remember, it's OK to be DIFFERENT!

Exceptional Children's Week

This week is dedicated to celebrating children of all abilities and the educators who teach them and all children. Don't forget to wear BLUE on Tuesday to show that Baker includes all children (and the classes with the most participation will win a party!)

Flyers went home (along with magnets with the poem, "A Child is Like a Butterfly") detailing this special week.

Baker is also looking for parents interested in starting a friendship group for those children who need some guidance socially. Please return your information to school if you are interested.

Time: 6:15-8:00pm

Please come to an evening of learning and fellowship with experts and other parents in the Allatoona, Harrison, Hillgrove, Kennesaw Mountain, McEachern and North Cobb clusters. Many different informational sessions will be available as well as refreshments and childcare. Guest speaker is Marlon Longacre. The Exceptional Children’s Committee at Baker addresses the needs of diverse learners in the school population by fostering communication and awareness of special education between the district, school, parents, and children. Exceptional children include students with mental and physical disabilities; chronic illnesses; visual disabilities; hearing disabilities; speech disabilities; social and emotional disabilities; learning disabilities; and in some instances, disadvantaged and deprived students. We are proud to celebrate these children and the teachers and staff who educate them each day.
