Good discipline is essential to a productive and meaningful learning environment. It is my responsibility to maintain an atmosphere for learning that is protected from interruption and disruption. It is my purpose to provide students and parents with a clear understanding of how I provide classroom management. A guideline for my management plan follows.
Rules:
1. Respect yourself and others.
2. Demonstrate appropriate behaviors.
3. Follow directions.
4. Be prepared for class
5. Complete all assignments/get agenda signed
In my classroom I have a checkbook management system.
This system provides students the opportunity to deposit money into their account for good behavior, grades, returning forms, signing agendas, and more. They can also have money taken away from their account for behavior, grades, not returning forms or not getting agenda signed and more. At the end of every grading period I have an auction. The students can use the money that was earned to buy gifts. I will ask every student to send in one or two small gifts for the auction. A great place to shop is the Dollar Tree.
Also, students will be expected to get their agendas signed at least three times a week. They will be expected to complete all their assignments. If they get their agendas signed and their work completed, I stay in the classroom with them on Fridays during lunch to watch a movie. If they do not stay in the classroom, then, they go to the cafeteria as usual.
Homework will be assigned to students on Monday – Thursday. They should not have more than 40 minutes a night. Please let me know if your
child is having difficulty with his or her nightly homework.
I know together we can make this a positive and rewarding school year. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
