Week of 1/23

K-5  To start the week we will finish up our fitness stations in all grades.  On Wednesday, we will switch over to gymnastic stations where all grade levels will get to participate in fun and safe, yet challenging stations that will keep them active while learning.  These stations will take us through most of next week.

Week of 1/16

K-5  All students will take part in our "fitness stations."  We set up 20 stations around the gym that are safe and fun for all students to enjoy.  They will rotate to each station with a group and will exercise for at least 20 minutes straight.  The best part is, they don't even realize they're doing it!  Some examples of our stations include: push-ups, curl-ups, shuttle run, pull ups, basketball dribbling, and much more.

Week of 1/9

K-5  All students will be running the PACER this week in PE.  The PACER is a challenging, yet fun way for the students to achieve cardiovascular fitness with their friends.  Grades 2-5 will be challenging themselves by trying to set "personal bests" during their runs this week.  Grades K-1 will be introduced to the fundamental concepts of the PACER, mainly, how to run it successfully.

Week of 12/5

K-5  Students will continue to practice soccer dribbling with the emphasis shifting to passing and trapping.  Students will learn and use terms related to soccer such as: inner foot, outer foot, light/soft touches, accurate when passing to feet or shooting at a target, and weight transfer.  At the end of the week, we will have them work on these skills during soccer stations to allow for skill practice in a small group setting.
