Week of 2/27

3-5  All students will participate in the "games" portion of our tennis unit this week.  Rules, tennis etiquette, and strategies for success will be introduced and applied.

K-2  All students will continue working on racquet skills with a foam ball.  We will mostly work on lead-in or introductory skills due to the overall skill level of this age.  However, if your child is one of a higher skill level, there will be plenty of challenges for him/her.

Week of 2/20

2-5  Students will continue working on tennis skills throughout this week.  Most students will end up being challenged by using a tennis ball this week instead of a foam ball. 

K-1  Students will continue working on paddle skills this week, and most students will end up practicing skills with a tennis racquet by the end of the week (depending on skill level).

Week of 2/13

3-5  Students will participate in our introductory tennis lessons this week.  Skills that will be introduced are the volley, forehand, backhand and serve.

K-2  Students will begin to participate in our striking unit this week.  Short and long-handled implements will be used throughout the unit while we practice. 

Week of 2/6

4-5  Students will begin the week with frisbee skills practice and finish the week with the game "Ultimate Frisbee."

K-3  Students will participate in a preliminary skill assessment for the 3rd quarter report card this week (2nd and 3rd - kicking & trapping, K and 1st - basketball dribbling).
