Welcome to my site! I am an original Baker teacher, dating back to August of 1988. I began teaching at Baker after having moved here from Ohio, where I taught a total of 12 years in two school districts, one public and one private. I received my undergraduate degree at Miami U. of Ohio, where I majored in both regular education and special education. I have taught both, but all but two of my years have been in the first grade!
I have been married (for 30 years), with one step-daughter, a son-in-law, and three wonderful school-aged grandchildren, ages 10-17, who all unfortunately reside over 500 miles away in Ohio. My hobbies include reading, sewing, boating, and talking on the phone with my dad, my step-daughter and grandkids, or any one of my six brothers and sisters, none of whom reside close by. I also love playing games, especially those that involve trivia.
I love my job and am always looking to learn new things that I can pass on to students and parents to improve education. I look forward each year to working with a new group, while staying in touch with as many of my former students and parents as possible. Hope this year is just the start of a much longer relationship between us as well!
