School Pictures

J0336373 Pictures from our original picture date (Oct 8th) have come back and been distributed.  Retakes have been completed.  Retake pictures are expected back before Christmas.  Smile Safe cards have also been distributed to everyone, whether or not you purchased a picture package.  Thanks to Lifetouch for this service.

If you wanted pictures and did not order them, there is still a chance to get school pictures.  We will take class pictures and spring individual pictures on February 27th.  At this time we will photograph every student and a proof will be sent home for you to look at and decide if you'd like the spring picture.  There is no make up or retake day for spring pictures.

How To Send Payments To School

J0395766 Baker is a very active school.  Currently, students can bring money to pay for ASP, Breakfast, Lunch,  Field Trips, Special School Activities, Lost Books and PTSA sponsored events.

Any money sent to school should be "clearly labeled."  Printing the student's full name, teacher and grade level are very important in making sure the payment is applied properly.  Also, please be sure to indicate the amount enclosed and date the payment is sent to school.  It is important to remember that we are unable to return change.

Cafe_envelope Breakfast and Lunch money should be sent in a green envelope like this one.  Payments can be dropped in the drop box in the cafeteria.

Asp_envelopeASP Money should be returned to school in an ASP envelope only.  You may enclose payments for more than one child.  Please be sure to indicated on the envelope who the payment is for.  If more than one student is listed, indicate how much should go on each account.  These payments can be dropped in the black ASP Payment box by the inside gym doors.

Payments for field trips, lost/damaged books, book clubs, and special Student_payment_envelope school activities should be placed in a white student payment envelope.  One envelope can contain payment for more than one activity (for instance a lost  book payment can be included with a field trip payment as long as it is clearly indicated on the envelope).  Cafeteria and ASP payments should never be placed in a white student payment envelope.  These payments should be placed in the large white safe by the inside gym doors.

Envelope_from_home Often, PTSA will sponsor an event for which you need to make reservations or they will collect money for a specific purpose (ex. spirit wear).  Parents/guardians will need to supply an envelope to return the reservation/payment to school.  Please be sure to mark the envelope with the student's name, teacher, grade, purpose of the payment, amount enclosed and date returned to school.

If you have any additional questions about sending payments to school, please contact me at 770/975-6629.

Field Trips & In School Activities--General Info

J0395776_4 Field trips and special in-school activities enhance the classroom learning experience for all students by supplementing the curriculum.  All field trips at Baker are directly related to topics/subjects that are being studied in class.

These special activities or field trips do not come out of our regular instructional budget.  Donations must be made to cover the cost of the trip or activity.  Unfortunately, if  the donations received do not cover the cost of the trip or activity, we must cancel the trip/activity.

Mrs. Ellington

Welcome to my blog.

Kaye1 My name is Kaye Ellington.  I'm blessed with a wonderful family, my husband Brett and I have two beautiful and amazingly talented daughters and a very spoiled dog, Lili.    I graduated from UGA in 1984 with a B.S. in Microbiology.  When my first child arrived, I switched gears and became a full time mom until both my children were in school.    I stay very busy as my girls dance with Steps of Faith Dance Company.   I enjoy watching my girls dance, spending time with my family (my extended family is in the area),  Football (UGA and CSU Buccaneers) and reading (historical fiction is my favorite).   We also love to travel.  My favorite place to relax is on Crescent Beach near St. Augustine, FL.

I was first introduced to Baker when my oldest daughter entered Gkindergarten.  Being a nervous mom, I quickly volunteered in the classroom and Media Center.  After a few years, I started working part-time as the ASP Account Clerk/Bookkeeper.   In 2004, I became the school bookkeeper.  As the bookkeeper, I am responsible for receiving and receipting money that students bring to school (except for ASP and Cafeteria payments).  In January and May, I provide parents with a detailed receipt of all funds (except ASP and Cafeteria) that have been paid to the school.  In addition, I take care of all the accounts payable and purchasing duties at Baker.  Sometimes you will see me at the front desk as I assist in the front office as needed.  I really enjoy working with all the staff and students at Baker.

I can be reached via email at kaye.ellington@cobbk12.org.
