My name is Kaye Ellington. I'm blessed with a wonderful family, my husband Brett and I have two beautiful and amazingly talented daughters (a senior at Kennesaw Mountain and an 8th grader at Barber) and two very spoiled dogs, Lili and Gidget. I graduated from UGA in 1984 with a B.S. in Microbiology. When my first child arrived, I switched gears and became a full time mom until both my children were in school. I stay very busy as my girls dance with Steps of Faith Dance Company. I enjoy watching my girls dance, spending time with my family (my extended family is in the area), UGA Football and reading (historical fiction is my favorite). We also love to travel. My favorite place to relax is on Crescent Beach near St. Augustine, FL.
I was first introduced to Baker when my oldest daughter entered
kindergarten. Being a nervous mom, I quickly volunteered in the classroom and Media Center. After a few years, I started working part-time as the ASP Account Clerk/Bookkeeper. In 2004, I became the school bookkeeper.
As the bookkeeper, I am responsible for receiving and receipting money that students bring to school (except for ASP and Cafeteria payments). In January and May, I provide parents with a detailed receipt of all funds (except ASP and Cafeteria) that have been paid to the school. In addition, I take care of all the accounts payable and purchasing duties at Baker. Sometimes you will see me at the front desk as I assist in the front office as needed. I really enjoy working with all the staff and students at Baker.
