We had a great time learning all about food! We have really enjoyed making all of our snacks you have sent in, they were all very yummy!
Thanks to everyone for sending in the jars, we made a special Christmas lantern out of them! We will send them home right before the winter break. When they come home, they will have a little tea light in the bottom of them that is battery operated. When you are ready to enjoy your lantern, take the tea light out and turn it on! They turned out VERY pretty! We do not need any more jars, but we could still use some tea lights if you have not sent yours in.
We have one more cute project that we can do, but we need tube socks! If you have an old tube sock at home, please send it in. They are the socks that men wear that have the longer elastic part at the top. I promise we usually do not ask for so many things, we have just come across some really cute ideas this year!
For the weeks of December 12th - January 13th, we will be reading some fun stories that go along with the holiday season and winter. These books include The Gingerbread Man (classic story adapted for Preschoolers), Who Will Guide My Sleigh Tonight by Jerry Palotta, Bear Snores On by Karma Wilson, Time To Sleep by Denise Fleming, and The Mitten by Jan Brett. In Animated Literacy we will be learning the letter G and playing turn taking games and reviewing previously taught letters during the two short weeks.
On Thursday, December 22nd, we will have a holiday party. Please feel free to send in a special snack or craft for the class to enjoy during our party!
Don't forget that there is no school from December 23rd - January 9th! School resumes Tuesday, January 10th! Have a happy holiday!
