Mono update

Unfortunately, I have mono, I will not be returning to school this week. I have all the symptoms and feel horrible.  I am trying to get as much rest as possible to return to school next week.

Dear 5^th Grade Parents: 

We are happy to give you the following information so that you can access online student resources.

Skillstutor:

The website is www.myskillstutor.com .  Your child’s username is their 7 digit student number.  The password is cobb and the site id is baker 03.  Your child will be assigned lessons to reinforce skills covered in class.

Harcourt math textbook:

The website is www.eharcourtschool.com   Your  child’s username is:_bstudent42_, their passcode is _baker____.   You can access the pages from the student textbook and you can also view lesson tutorials and complete practice activities.  

Science textbook:

The website is www.thinkcentral.com  From here you should click on Science & Health, then HSP Science, fill in the drop down menus for State, District (Cobb County), School. The username is science, password is baker.  From here click on My Library, then you should see a picture of the science textbook (HSP Science Student ebook)

Social Studies text book:

The website www.eduplace.com, from here choose Georgia, SS, then e-services (look on the bottom middle of page).  The username is cobbstudent5, password is password.

Spelling/Vocabulary:

The website is www.spellingcity.com , you can access teacher lists by searching by last name – Niesje Farmer

Student Grades/EnGrade:

You can check your student’s grades online at any time by going to . 

www.engrade.com (you will need to register before you can check grades) Registration information was distributed with Sept. 1st newsletter

Dear Parents,

           We are having another amazing week.  Open House for 5th grade is tonight.  I can’t wait to see you again and show you what is going on in the classroom.  I am very excited to tell you about the engrade online grading system.   You will be able to access the website at anytime for an update on your child’s grades

August Newsletter

Dear Parents,

           We are having an amazing week.  I am  getting to know the students and assessing their abilities.  I will have my blog updated by next week.  I look forward to seeing you at Open House on September 1st. I will discuss class procedures, curriculum  and expectations at that time. If you have any pressing questions please email me and I will get an answer for you as quickly as possible.

Animal Safari Information

 
 

 

    Our fifth grade field trip to Pine Mountain Animal Safari is this upcoming Monday, April 25th.  Students will need to remember to wear comfortable shoes, clothes, and sunscreen.  They will also need to remember their lunch and drink.  (I'm bringing a cooler)  Students CAN bring soda, water, lunch (paper bags only), and a camera(with parent permission)  Please put names on lunches and drinks.

Students CAN'T bring an IPad, an IPod, MP3 listening devices, or electronic games.  We will NOT be stopping to purchase merchandise from the gift shop, so please don't bring money to shop.
