Large Group Performance Evaluation

Chorus will be attending Large Group Performance Evaluation on Thrusday, February 16th. LGPE is being held at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, 955 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta, Georgia 30068.  Baker Chorus will be singing for the judges at 9:45 am.  We will leave school at 8:15 am and return around 12:45.  After we perform, we will be eating lunch at Stevie B's Pizza on Barrett Parkway from 11:00-12:15.   

Remember to wear navy blue pants/skirts and white shirts/blouses with dark socks/tights and dark shoes.  No jeans or tennis shoes.

I am so excited about performing for the judges!!

January 21^st (Saturday)       Call time 6:15, Game is at 7:00

    National Anthem performed

                                          Kennesaw State University

                                          Convocation Center (Building #2)

                                          Men's basketball game

 

Wear jeans, chorus shirt and tennis shoes. Meet inside the arena at 6:15. There is a marketing table inside the arena doors near where the band is. Mr. LeHeup from KSU will meet us there. Parking: Turn onto Frey Road from Chastain Road. At the first traffic light turn left into the East Parking Deck. This deck is closest to the convocation center and parking is free. For anyone wishing to stay for the game, students get in free and family members are $5 each.

 

February 16^th (Thursday)        Large Group Performance Evaluation

Wear white blouses/shirts, navy pants/skirts, dark hose/socks, dark shoes (no tennis shoes). Students will ride bus to and from performance during the school day.

 

March 1^st (Thursday Evening)    Art Show/Chorus Concert

                                                    Baker Elementary Cafeteria

                                                    Chorus will perform at 6:30

 

Wear white blouses/shirts, navy pants/skirts, dark hose/socks, dark shoes (no tennis shoes).

Students will meet in cafeteria at 6:15 to warm up/line up. Performance will be at 6:30 and will last about twenty-five minutes.

 

March 7^th (Wednesday)        Year end chorus party

                                               Music room 2:30-3:30

Chorus starts back Wednesday, January 11th

Chorus resumes on this Wednesday, January 11th.  We have a lot of work to do to prepare for our upcoming performances at Kennesaw State University, Large Group Performance Evaluation and our Spring Concert.  See you on Wednesday!!

Chorus to perform at Baker Sing-a-long

Baker Chorus will be performing selections from their holiday music at the annual Baker Bear Holiday Sing-a-long on Thursday, December 22.  The first performance will be at 8:30 and the second performance will be at 9:30.  Chorus pictures will also be made for the yearbook during the break from 9:15-9:30.  Wear your chorus shirt, santa hat and a great big smile.

CHORUS PERFORMANCE THIS SATURDAY, 12/17, AT PUBLIX

Chorus will be performing this Saturday, Decemeber 17th, at Publix (corner of Baker Road and Jiles).  The address is 2090 Baker Road in Kennesaw.  Students should wear blue jeans, chorus shirt and santa hat.  We will be singing outside at the front of the store.  Students should meet at 9:45 to line up. 

CHORUS PERFORMANCE ON DECEMBER 2, 2011

Chorus will be performing this Friday night, December 2, at the NorthStar Community Christmas Celebration.  We will be singing at 6:30.  Students need to arrive at 6:00 in order to line up.  Please wear jeans, chorus shirt, and tennis shoes.  If it is cool, wear a long sleeved shirt under your chorus shirt.  If it is cold, we will keep our coats on while we sing. Don't forget your santa hat!!  

We will be singing on the True North Stage located behind the True North building.  The address for the church is 3413 Blue Springs Road, Kennesaw, 30144.  For directions go to northstarchurch.org and click on "directions".  

Spider Stew

Fifth grade is having a great time this week learning "Spider Stew".  We are working on the standard of being able to play a part while other groups are playing or singing different parts.

Chorus meets every Wednesday from 2:30-3:30 in the music room unless otherwise noted below.

 

Wednesday, October 26^th    NO REHEARSAL DUE TO EARLY RELEASE

 

We will not be performing anywhere for Veteran's Day. As it turns out, I will be out of town that weekend.

 

December 2^nd, Friday evening, performance at 6:30 at Northstar Community Christmas Celebration. The church is located at 3413 Blue Springs Road, Kennesaw, 30144. Students should wear blue jeans, chorus shirt and a santa hat. We will be singing outside so dress warmly. If it is extremely cold that night, we will wear our jackets while performing. Students should meet at the side of the stage in the parking lot behind the church at 6:00.

 

December 17^th, Saturday morning, performance at 10:00 a.m. at Publix (corner of Baker and Jiles). The address is 2090 Baker Road in Kennesaw. Students should wear blue jeans, chorus shirt and santa hat. We will be singing outside at the front of the store. Students should meet at 9:45 to line up.

 

December 22^nd, School Performance during the school day - time TBA. Wear jeans, chorus shirt and santa hat.

 

January 21, Saturday evening, Star Spangled Banner performance at Kennesaw State University Men's Basketball game. The game is at 7:00. I am not sure what time we will need to arrive. I will send more info as we receive it. Students will get in free, parents and any other Baker folks will be able to purchase discounted tickets. Students will wear jeans and chorus shirts.

 

February 16^th or 17^th, Large Group Performance Evaluation. This occurs during the school day and we have not yet been given which day we will be performing. Students will take a bus from school to participate in LGPE and have lunch together. We will need parent chaperones for this trip. Students will need to wear white shirts/blouses, navy skirts/pants, dark shoes (no heels).

 

March 1^st, Thursday evening, Spring Concert at Baker Elementary. This is in conjunction with the Spring art show. Chorus will perform at 6:30 and will need to wear the white and navy outfits.

Chorus is off to a great start!!

We have our music. We have our CDs. We had a great rehearsal last week. Thank you to the wonderful parents who dropped in to rehearsal last week to help out. I can tell it is going to be an amazing year in chorus!! Remember, we have rehearsal every Wednesday.

Chorus begins Wednesday, September 21st!!!!!!!

I am so excited that it is finally time for chorus to begin.  If you are ASP or RSP, please check in with your ASP/RSP teacher first and then come to chorus.  Back packs will be placed in the hallways on the appropriate wall for each grade (signs will be up).  Make sure and go to the restroom and get water BEFORE chorus.  Chorus begins at 2:30 and ends at 3:30. Make sure you give any dismissal changes to your teacher.  See you Wednesday!!!!!!!!!!!!
