Welcome to my blog! My name is Janice (pronounced Ja'niece), I am the Data Entry Clerk and Registrar at Baker Elementary. I have been working here at Baker for almost 12 years. My job is all about keeping track of our students. I spend most of my day working on the computer where I enter data about our students into the computer program that stores information about all the students in Cobb County Schools. I also greet new students and parents and help them enroll in our school. I always try to make our new students and their families feel comfortable and welcome at Baker Elementary. This also means that I contact other schools that our students have attended to make sure we have all the information we need about each student. When we have a student leave our school, I also make sure that their records follow them to their new school. I love working with all the staff and students at Baker Elementary!
To tell you a little about myself I will start by telling you that I grew up in Arizona and went to Arizona State University where I earned my degree in Education. I worked in the business world while I put myself through college and then taught Middle School for three years before I married and had children. I moved to Georgia twenty years ago so now I call Georgia home too. I have two adult daughters, Tamara and Kara. Kara is married to Eric, and they have a an adorable little boy. So now they live, work and go to school all in the Kennesaw/Acworth area. Tamara is a very talented young lady who has many interests and is working towards her Masters degree at Southern Polytechnic University in Marietta.
You might notice if you come to my office that I have lots of pictures of dogs and cats on my bulletin board. I guess you could say I Love Animals! Most of my animals were adopted or rescued and each one is very special. I also like to make jewelry and read in my spare time.
