This final full week of school we will continue to talk about the ocean, fish, beaches, and summer vacation! I will be doing final assessments for report cards.
Reminder: If you did not provide a self addressed large brown envelope (the envelope that was sent home with your child's registration form) with 2 stamps, you will have to come up to school in June to pick up your child’s report card and other important information for next year. About half the class has returned the envelope with the 2 stamps. If you have not and would like to have it mailed to you, you can still send in the 2 stamps and be sure I have your correct address so I can address your envelope for you.
Field Day is this Wednesday (May 18). Kindergarten is the Red Team. If your child has a red shirt this would be a good day to wear it. Do NOT go out and buy a red shirt for this day. Watch the weather and dress your child appropriately for approximately 3 hours outside (8:30-11:30). If you feel sunscreen is necessary, you should apply it at home. Water bottles are optional. Children will be responsible for keeping up with their own water bottles.
Looking ahead…
The following week, May 23-25, the final week of school, is a short week. School is dismissed 1 hour early on Tuesday and Wednesday. Wednesday, May 25, the children are not allowed to bring anything home on the bus (Cobb County rule). That means no book bags, no lunch boxes—nothing! If you are sending lunch that day, please pack it in a plastic or paper bag which can be thrown away after lunch.
Don’t forget—the Baker Carnival is Saturday 11:00 -3:00! If you have not already purchased a wrist band, admission is $10. at the door for children (adults are free). Wait until you see our basket! It is unbelievable! Fun fun fun all day! Hope to see you there!
