Important dates:

End of 1st grading period: October 14th

Conference Week: Students will be dismissed at 12:30  October 24th-28th

The students are going to Mrs. Markt for Social Studies instruction.
Please be sure your child is working on their multiplication facts.  We are taking speed drill tests and graphing the results.  The students have used the laptops for drill and practice.  They know what sites to use for home practice.

Picture Day -  Friday, September 9th!
All students will be photographed for the yearbook.
Students may purchase individual pictures.
Please look for envelopes to come home.

What a great start to our school year! The students are really working hard.  I have been sooooo pleased with their homework and responsibility. Wow! 
This month we will continue working in place value in math.  We will also learn about decimals and graphs.  The students will finish their narrative writings and learn about poems in language arts.  In science, we are completing the unit on the water cycle and weather.  The children will go to Mrs. Markt for social studies soon.  They will study maps/globes and economics.

Please be sure to continue to send a note if your child has a change of dismissal.
Thank you for all the tissue, baggies, bandaids and other class supplies!

Welcome to Fourth Grade 2011-2012

 

            
Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year!  We are looking forward to a fantastic year!  We have had a wonderful first week of school.  What a great group of polite students.

We have a 6-day rotation for our specials classes.  Our specials are PE (2), Music, Art, Health and Skills Tutor in the computer lab.

Our lunch time is 11:48.  Please have your child bring a healthy snack every day.  The children will need to eat breakfast at home, or they may eat breakfast in the lunchroom.  If they are not big breakfast eaters, they are welcome to bring a breakfast bar or some fruit to eat in class before the announcements.  They may eat their snack at any time.  

Thank you for the generous supply of classroom items.  We will certainly use the tissue, wipes and baggies.  The children have a supply drawer in the classroom. They will keep extra pencils, crayons, glue sticks etc. in this box.  Please have your child's name or initials on each personal item.

Fourth Grade Parent Orientation night is on Monday, August 29th at 6:30.   I hope to see you there!
