Thank you for all the egg and candy donations. We had 491 candy-stuffed eggs for our egg hunt on Wednesday. WOW. The children had a fine time and are still finding the occasional egg here and there.

Saturday, May 7th, Baker is hosting a bicycle rodeo. Bring your child and review bike safety.
Saturday, May 14th, is Baker’s Spring Carnival (11:00 – 3:00). There will be lots of kid-friendly activities including a cake walk. Please contact our room mom, Mrs. Hildoer, if you can donate a cake. We, along with Mrs. McCord’s kindergarten class, are creating a basket for the basket raffle. It sounds like one of the best raffle baskets ever created in the history of Baker Elementary Carnival baskets. We thank both room parents and all you for all your generous donations.
In phonics we are emphasizing phonics tricks. These tricks will help readers decipher words and writers spell words. In case you haven’t noticed, our children are reading and writing really well. I am very proud of them.
We are continuing to practice addition techniques and facts as well as reviewing graphs, patterns, and time-telling.
Keep up the good work with your reinforcement of our curriculum. Your help makes a tremendous difference.
We only have four and a half weeks left of school. Remember that every day counts and every day is important.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Schumacher
