Thanks for making our winter party a success! Thank you for all the donations and for coming in to help out and spend time with our class. The kids had a GREAT time! It was a wonderful way to end our first half of the year.
Your child is coming home with a journal to use over the break. Please read the letter regarding how to use the journal. When we come back from the break please send your child’s journal back in for them to share with me. The children’s writing has come so far, I would like them to continue with the great job they’ve done by practicing over the break. They all really enjoy journal writing! In January we will have journal writing for homework. Please send in your child’s primary composition book if you have not done so already. It should stay in their backpack so that I can check it.
If you can’t find the primary composition notebook please let me know. They can be found at Walmart, Target, School Box, and Office Max. Remember it is the journal with space on the top of the page for a picture and lines on the bottom for writing.
Please continue reading with your child over the vacation!
When we return from the holiday we will focus on numbers 11-20. Some kids are still having a hard time remembering to put the 1 first for the teen numbers.
In social studies we will be learning our city, county, state, country and continent. Please help the kids learn their address over the break. This will be assessed for the 3rd quarter and can be tricky without practice at home.
In phonics we will review beginning sounds and ending sounds before we focus on the vowel sounds.
I sent home the requirements for the 3rd marking period.
Can’t wait to see what the next half of the school year holds for our class!
